Sheldon Richardson

It seems the pride of Missouri and the incumbent star has some news for us.  This nugget of information comes to us from our pals over at Mizzourah…from Sheldon Richardson’s facebook:

bout 2 leave 4 cali yea cali its cool i didnt make str8 2 mizzou ima keep my head up like a nose bleed sorry mizzou fans gotta wait a lil while longer but i promise wen i get there we wil b on top n 4 u KU FANS DISSIN ME YALL GOIN SEE ME REAL SOON I PROMISE WHILE IM THERE WE WONT LOSE 2 YALL WACK AZZ R TEXAS R OKALAHOMA YEA I TALK BIG **** N I BACK DAT **** UP 2 M..I..Z.. GOTTA PROBLEM LET ME KNO HOEZ

If you can decipher that message in full, a translation would be greatly appreciated and you’ll be rewarded handsomely.  I’m told he’s a regular Stephen Hawking with a calculator, but those damned reading and writing sections keep tripping him up.  Best I can tell, he’s letting us all know that he was not able to qualify for Division I athletics, so he’ll be heading to a JUCO in California.  The rest seems like optimistic speculation at best; pompous douchebaggary at worst; and ultimately just like his opinion, man.

Anyway, best of luck to you Sheldon. It seems like you’ve got this all mapped out quite nicely and from the looks of things, you’ll fit in beautifully in Columbia if you get there.  And honestly, I hope you do figure things out at some point, because if you’re half as good as Missouri fans that have likely never seen you play seem to think you are, then it would truly be a shame for your talent to go to waste.  Stay in touch.

  1. Sucks that he’ll be gone for ‘09, but he wouldn’t start this season over our upperclassmen. Since he’s off to JUCO for the summer, he’ll be on the squad in ‘10, which is when he was expected to make a difference.

Really, a non-story. If anything, he’ll get to play in JUCO, where he’d probably struggle for PT this year.

I believe he was trying to say this:

“I am preparing to leave for California. I’m afraid I did not meet the high academic standards to qualify for the University of Missouri. I will not fret, for I shall keep my head high, as if I had epistaxis. I promise Missouri fans, that when I do arrive in Columbia, we shall rise to the top. And for the KU fans talking negatively about me, let me say this, you shall see me soon and we shall not lose to your prestigious university. Nor will we lose to the University of Texas or the University of Oklahoma. Yes, I speak confidently, but I also allow my actions to represent my words. If you do not agree with what I’ve said, please contact me.

  3. Triston: Well done. Your check is in the mail.

BH: Am I missing something here? Who besides Baston on inside of your DL has proven anything to make you think Richardson couldn’t have come in and played? Or were you referring to his daunting task of trying to unseat Andrew Jones at TE?

  4. Coulter, Jacquies Smith, and Aldon Smith would all start over him if he played DE. Terrell Resonno, Jaron Baston, and Andy Maples (and possibly Dominique Hamilton) would all be ahead at DT.

Coulter, Baston, and Maples will all be done after this season, so there’s going to be room on the D-Line after that in ‘10 when Shel comes in.

Just my thought, but there’s no way he plays TE unless it’s in a freak formation. Jones is going to be a good one.

Please explain to me how a non-qualifier can play after only 1 year at Juco? And if he couldn’t unseat that crew then he’s no 5* at all.

  6. Well said, BMG. I’ll give you Baston and even Coulter if you want, but if he can’t take some snaps from those other guys, I don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

  7. If he was unsure of whether or not he wanted to go to a D-1 school, or just chose to go to a JuCo, he could transfer to a D-1 school after completing 12 hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0.

BUT because he was a non-qualifier he is required to get his associates degree and sign a second LOI before he is eligible to play at any NCAA university.

Any Tiger fan out there that says anything to the contrary needs to read the rules and regulations regarding non-qualifiers.
