After watching that foul shooting, now I know what Texas fans feel like. I didn’t like it one bit.
But as you said, nothing is fucked.

[...] Let’s start in the Big 12 where Kansas needed overtime to dispose of an upstart Colorado bunch. Buff fans will lament the foul call with 36 seconds to play that sent Sherrod Collins to the line to tie or take the lead. The call, quite frankly, was an amazingly bad bail out that had been a no call for the whole game. Well, if you were Colorado anyway. But get this, on their home floor, CU shot 17 foul shots to Kansas’ 38. Shocking huh? I get that the Buffalos don’t have a back to the basket game, but they do drive the basketball and their student body is comprised of tireless conservationists. Give them a break. Plus the KU guards shot 15 foul shots by themselves, and Brady Morningstar and Tyrell Reed aren’t usually confused with slashing, get to the basket players. Anyway, Collins hits one out of two and KU gets the game into overtime where they’re able to just blast a worn down CU club. Upset averted. Or as our friends at Oread Kings put it, “Nothing is fucked.” [...]

I can’t believe we shot that poorly. Just never looked comfortable at the line.

I don’t think this game has “red flag” posted on it…in reference to future games. Two glaring problems last night: 1) rebounding 2) FT–are they fixable? yes. Now…for my concerns–why do we not use our bench just a little bit more? esp. with the altitude and how our guys were gassed. I can think of two players that could came in to help w/o a huge drop-off. Withey and Johnson. My first choice is Withey…the dude is 7 freakin’ foot tall! Let him swat at a few shot attempts, maybe get a good look at the bucket and get him out. Is it possible he sucks at FT’s worse than Kief’s recent struggles??? With Johnson, my only reasonable explanation of why this guy doesn’t get PT is b/c his defense is just not where Bill wants it–and it shows bigtime in practice. I would just like to see him on floor for his explosiveness and the guy can jump out of the gym. I am still trying to figure out where or when EJ has played that left me thinking “the game is too fast for him”. Now for X…please come back to earth sometime soon…he must be getting some serious tail 24/7 for him to slump like this. Maybe someone should show him the clip from “Bull Durham” about fuckin’ with a streak. Again…I’m spoiled beyond belief when I gripe after a win, but I think we all just see the huge potential this team has and has yet to show on a consistent basis. Welcome back AFH and spank the huskers..ROCK CHALK!

Are you suggesting we find X a fat chick for a slump buster? Because I agree.
Yesterday Hiphop pointed out that the only way KU loses is if they were to beat themselves. Well that was damn near the case with all the missed free-throws. However, I never really felt worried about us losing the game. Maybe it was because I have such confidence in someone to step up and make a play. Maybe it was because I have zero confidence in CU to close out a game. Maybe it was the gameday Colt 45 I was drinking. Whatever it was, losing never really crossed my mind. Better blowout Nebs on Saturday and give our starters some rest heading into Austin.
